What goes in

Two things, both of which apply on day one.

A discount on the spend you already have

Your AWS usage is invoiced through our reseller programme rather than directly from AWS, and a discount applies to it. It is calculated on the environment as it stands, so nothing needs to move or be rebuilt for it to apply.

Card transaction fees, removed

Paying AWS directly by card carries a percentage fee on every invoice plus a small fixed charge. Being invoiced by a supplier in your own region takes that layer off, which is a modest amount every month and a real one over a year.

What it leaves out

The estimate is deliberately conservative.

Everything below moves the number, usually upwards, and none of it can be guessed from a single monthly figure. That is what the conversation is for.

Savings from resizing, scheduling or removing unused resources — real, often larger, and specific to your environment.
Reserved Instances, Savings Plans and other commitments you already hold, which change the baseline the discount applies to.
AWS funding and incentive programmes, which are one-off amounts rather than a monthly rate.
Anything above the slider's ceiling, where the answer depends on workloads and commitments enough that a number here would be misleading.
